Dear SHARE members,
It was very exciting to start this year as a new SHARE Committee. Every week we explored the possibilities and opportunities that we have as the Marketing Committee. At the beginning it was quite a challenge; where do we even start? Already in the early stages everyone agreed that we wanted to create a merchandise line for our members. Below each member discusses what they found most memorable this year and it will give you a little insight on our designing process!
Elise: I was overwhelmed with how motivated and enthusiastic my committee is. For me, the highlight of this year is the whole aspect of combining our creativity with the question: ‘what does a SHARE member want from us’? What does a SHARE member want to wear? Is the design accessible for all members? How do we incorporate SHARE into the design and still make it fashionable? Something that you want to wear might not be what someone likes. So far, my experience in this committee is that you learn to remain critical, give each other feedback, collaborate, express your opinion, compromise, think creatively, come up with solutions, work efficiently, but the most important thing is that it gives me so much joy.
Tessa: The most memorable for me was designing the sweaters! It all started with a little sketch on a post-it and to see the elaborated design on a sweater is amazing. Every time when I see somebody in our sweater or I see the sweater laying in my closet, I feel very proud. As a committee, we worked very hard and everyone was so motivated to make it perfect (especially making it precisely symmetric). Perhaps, that is the most memorable for me, how well we collaborate and the enthusiasm everyone has. I would not have missed it for the world.
Louise: I love being a part of the Marketing Committee. The most memorable this academic year was the launch of the merchandise. We had so much positive feedback and we all were pleasantly surprised by the number of orders! It was so rewarding to see that something we had been working on for weeks was received so positively.
Isabelle: So far, the highlight of this committee has been the day when we finally had the merchandise in our hands and we were able to package it for our members. The same afternoon members could already pick up their order. We received a lot of positive reactions and we even saw some photos from members on Instagram with our merch! All this positive feedback creates even more incentive to develop another merchandise collection for SHARE. I think I could say that we should be proud of what we have achieved so far as SHARE’s first Marketing Committee!
Indira: It was an exciting start of my Board year to be the General Member of the Board in a new Committee! The most memorable this year so far is the motivation and the creativity of this Committee! Their creativity has been expressed through the merchandise line, which was such a success! Furthermore, I appreciate how the collaboration with the other committees went. For example, we made the posters for all the Trip Committees. I look forward to the coming months where we can realize our final ideas!
