The 38th Board of SHARE

Maureen van Duin, President of the 38th Board

Doing a Board year was by far one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! I got the chance to represent SHARE, come up with creative ideas and innovations together with 5 amazing people who are friends for life and I still talk to on a daily basis. The bond you create by working together so closely is amazing and is something I am really grateful for.
Despite the fact that we were ‘the Board with a COVID year’, I am really proud of the creative events we came up with despite the regulations. Organizing the trips was a challenge, but in my eyes they were great successes!

Our Ski Trip was completely online. We spend the evening playing all kinds of (après ski) games. Beforehand, everyone had a goodiebox full of ski-related goodies delivered to their home. The Study Trip had an Asian theme and during this weekend we went canoeing, had an Asian cooking workshop, a cocktail workshop, a pub quiz and a scavenger hunt through Rotterdam. There also was a guest speaker who told us about the Asian healthcare. During the Short Trip, called ‘Tour de Randstad’, we visited Haarlem, Leiden, The Hague and Rotterdam. In this sunny weekend, we went supping, played a crazy 88 and bubble football, escaped The Hague, went barbecuing and had a lot of fun! Despite the fact that we didn’t travel abroad during our trips, I am convinced that we as a Board as well as the members made wonderful memories!

Berber Blok, Secretary of the 38th Board

I couldn’t agree more: we made a lot of wonderful memories in our Board year and we made friends for life. Besides that, I still benefit from my Board year due to all the things I have learned: besides the fun activities, there were a lot of ‘serious’ moments which resulted in extensive professional and personal development.
One of these moments was during the Eurekaweek, in which I had to give a presentation to a lot of new students. This learned me to stay calm in front of a group of people, and I still get a smile on my face when I think back to this moment.

Another valuable experience was the Health Business Week. Despite the fact that, the HBW took place in an online setting, it was a tremendous success. I am still proud of all the amazing people that made great use of their flexibility. Before my Board year, being flexible was challenging for me, but especially due to the Health Business Week, I learned to stay calm during changing situations.
Another important theme in a Board year that brought me development, was organising a lot of amazing activities together with other people. Organising trips and events automatically raise your organizational and your cooperation skills to a higher level.

In short: having the opportunity to do a Board year will bring you a lot of remarkable moments, which are not only something to remember for the rest of your life, but will also be of added value in your career and your personal life.

Bieke Vissers, Treasurer of the 38th Board

Hey everybody! My name is Bieke and I am the O.T. Treasurer of the 38th Board of F.A. SHARE. Which means that I was responsible for all the finances of the association. I really loved my function and my Board year in general which was made extra special due to COVID. However, this is not the main aspect of my Board year that comes to mind when I am thinking back to this amazing time.

At the start of my Board year I met 5 people, some more well-known than others, who all became without a doubt one of the closest friends I have ever had. During the year we faced all kinds of challenges and learned how to work efficient, flexible and most importantly together. Being a part of such a well-oiled machine did not only provide a chance to learn about the function Treasurer and teamwork, but also gave me the opportunity to learn about myself.
A Board year is about sharing moments, achieving your goals and creating memories and I know I will treasure each memory and Board member for the rest of my life.

Nisrine Himmit, Manager of Education and Vice President of the 38th Board

I am honoured to be able to write a piece about my fantastic Board year.
Last year, was one of the best decisions of my student days, and that was only possible because of the 5 champs with whom I started this adventure.
During this year, I was allowed to fulfil the role of Manager of Education and I was responsible for all contact and collaborations with ESHPM. I am therefore very proud of what I have been able to achieve in this position and especially together with ESHPM. It was a highlight for me to take different projects to the next level together with them. Another highlight of the year was the DIES: the anniversary of the association that me and my Committee were allowed to take responsibility for. We did everything we could to make this day an unforgettable one, and I believe we succeeded.
If I may advise anyone who is in doubt about a Board year: just do it! It is impossible to describe in words what you can learn from this experience and what kind of friends you will have. You continue to amaze yourself and you go from one surprise to the next.

Tessa Scholtmeijer, Manager of Communications of the 38th Board

First of all, being a part of this Board has been the highlight of my Board year, 100%. These 5 people have made a COVID year one of the best years of my life and I am very grateful for that. Within this Board, I had the honour to fulfil the position of Manager of Communications. This function gave me a lot of freedom to be creative with for example our website, app and socials. Together with the Marketing Committee we designed two amazing merchandise collections and we created many different things to promote our beautiful association.

I also had the pleasure to be the General Board member of the Events Committee. I think that it was most definitely not always easy for the Committee to come up with a new online event and stay motivated throughout the year. However, they did an amazing job and at the end of the year they were rewarded with some physical sport events! We organized a golf clinic and we played padel with our members, and I am very sure that the Committee and the members enjoyed seeing each other again after such a long time.
I am so proud of all the things we have accomplished and achieved during our year. Not only for SHARE, but also on a personal level. If someone asked me if I would like to go back to our year again, I would say a wholeheartedly ‘yes!’.

Guus Janssen, Manager of External Relations of the 38th Board

Hi everyone! I am Guus, currently a third year Bachelor student and officially the O.T. Manager of External Relations of the 38th Board. Last year, I got to do a Board year with five great ladies, to keep our beautiful association running! I’ve enjoyed every second of it. In my opinion, we’ve created a friendship that will last forever! Besides our friendship, a lot of other different memories were created.
One of my tasks as the MoER was organizing the HBW 2021, together with the HBW Committee. I can remember that the organisation was challenging. COVID had a demolishing impact on our year. Nevertheless, COVID opened a lot of new doors. In October, we heard that we would have to work on an online scenario, which demanded a lot of flexibility from everyone. After, working tirelessly for months we’ve accomplished to organise a one-of-a-kind edition of the HBW, in which the students got to meet their potential employers online!

I’ve briefly described the influence of COVID on our Board year. When the government provided us with some more space at the end of the year, we couldn’t be happier. It was just what our members and we needed. We enjoyed it with, among others, an amazing drink in the famous Club Vibes, a partially physical Eurekaweek and a summer activity! In short, I’ve had a splendid year with everyone and together we enjoyed every minute of the ride!
